An American In Paris

Today I’m sharing my first project as part of The Crafty Scrapper design team! Please take a minute to visit their blog and check out all the beautiful projects the team has been working on.

I created a mini album for a trip to Paris my husband and I took a little while back. I used papers from the Fab Scraps Love 2 Travel collection. These papers are so pretty and feminine, and so different from the usual travel collections. I also used papers from the new Bo Bunny Carnival collection.

I used a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Cabinet Card for the base of my cover, and embellished with flowers, including a rolled ribbon rose. A touch of vintage lace finishes it.

I printed my photos in black and white to complement the vintage feel of the papers. One of my favorite embellishments is the little envelope below. It started as a plain kraft envelope. Then I added embossing ink and super-fine silver embossing powder. The finish is a sleek, shiny silver…ooh la la!

I kept each page simple, embellishing with ribbons, flowers, paper scraps, and a title.

I love how the soft pastel colors of the papers blend so well together.

I made a simple binding by punching holes in each page and threading a thin ribbon, which I tied in a bow on the front.

Oooh, this is gorgeous, Erica! Love the papers and colors, and all your detailing is amazing! Your cabinet card cover is so cool. What a great idea. Love how you printed your photos in b&w. Makes everything look so vintage. Really loving how you altered that little kraft envelope with embossing powder, too. SO fabulous!
