Curiouser and Curiouser

Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing my latest project for The Crafty Scrapper design team – a fairy tale inspired canvas.

I started with a 4×6 chunky canvas as the base. When I saw the heart-shaped key in my stash of supplies, my imagination immediately took me to Wonderland. So, I proceeded to decorate the canvas – on every square inch of space!

I copied images from a vintage Alice in Wonderland book and layered them with playing cards and all sorts of embellishments.

On the front, I colored Alice using Tim Holtz Distress Markers. I made a big rosette for the top, and made the center from a Tim Holtz Mirrored Sheet, for my looking glass.

And here is that key – I added it to one of the sides. I further embellished the sides using the Tim Holtz Harlequin Stencil, modelling paste, and Black Soot Distress Embossing Powder.

And here is the back (I told you I didn’t leave any inch uncovered!). I used a Tim Holtz Glass Vial for my “Drink Me” potion.

I even decorated the inside of the back of the canvas, because of course, you do see it after all.

I had so much fun making this project! Did you notice the tape measure ribbon stretched along the bottom? I squeezed as many Alice references as I could on this little canvas!

OMGosh, how adorable and amazing, Erica!! Love the whole nostalgia of the Alice in Wonderland theme, and I love all the detail and hidden surprises to this! Seriously, a drink me potion tucked away into a compartment in the back? Brilliant! Loving the little vial filled with beads and love all the playing cards. It’s all just sooooo cool, my friend!
