Tricks and Treats

Today I’m sharing my latest design team project for The Crafty Scrapper – a Halloween ATC holder that uses several items from the new Tim Holtz Idea-ology Halloween collection.

I started with two paper lunch bags that I folded to create the interior pockets. Then I attached them together with by stitching on two burlap “hinges.” I decorated the front with papers from the Halloween Paper Stash.

I added some cheesecloth that I sprayed with orange and black Maya Mist (from Maya Road), a cluster of flowers, and an idea-ology Crypt Cameo. A black tulle bow gives a spiderweb effect.

Let’s take a peak inside. The pockets created from folding the bags are the perfect size to hold a few Halloween-themed ATCs. I covered this side of the bags with some old book pages and more of the idea-ology paper stash. The vintage owl and skeleton are from the Ephemera Pack.

I actually have an original of the paper owl – he’s about 18 inches tall, and comes out each Halloween to spook up the house.

But, I digress. Here is a look at the ATC collection.

I made a few “death cards” with snarky epitaphs on the backs.

I hope you’re getting into the spirit and crafting up a boo-tiful Halloween display!

Ohmygosh! This is fa-boo-lous, Erica! How creative of you to use lunch bags for the base! And I LOVE all the decor and ATC’s you made. You made me laugh with your spooky epitaph. And LOVE that you have an 18″ version of that cool vintage owl! SO awesome, my friend!
