Notes from the Sea Mini Album

Today I’m sharing my design team post for The Crafty Scrapper. This month, I made a mini album using Prima’s new French Riviera collection and embellishments from Maya Road.

I started with a Maya Road chipboard album that I painted and inked to get an aged gray-blue color that matches the Prima papers. For the cover I layered various papers – from the Prima collection and from my stash of vintage books.

Here is a close-up of the embellishments – including a compass I made using a Maya Road wood frame charm. I printed a compass image, then distressed it with ink and adhered it to the inside of the charm. I used a Maya Road mini arrow charm and then painted the top piece of the frame with Distress Paint.

Here is a look at some of the inside pages. I combined black and white photos of my niece’s many visits to the beach with some of the images from the Prima collection.

I cut out shell images from the Prima paper and added some frosty bling, also from Prima.

I made a pocket page to hold a tag that features more of the Prima images, along with some wave-inspired trim that I colored using Distress Ink and Distress Stain.

I layered more of the French book pages behind the images throughout the album and added shells from my collection.

To hold the book closed, I dyed a piece of silk ribbon using various colors of Distress Ink to achieve a faded and aged watery effect.

I am ready for summer vacation and making more beachy memories with Lily Munchkin!
