The Tag

Today I’m sharing the tag I made for The Crafty Scrapper’s annual 12 Tags of Christmas. In case you haven’t noticed, I do more crafting at Christmas than any other time of the year. I LOVE Christmas, and I especially love crafting for Christmas.

Here is the tag I made.

I started with some Prima Sweet Peppermint scraps I had leftover from my Christmas Carousel project. I layered the papers, and added a stitched border.

To mute the patterns and blend the colors a little more, I added a messy layer of thin white paint before adding my embellishments. A few sprays of Picket Fence Distress Spray and Pewter Perfect Pearls Mist give it an aged look.

The chipboard and sequins are from the Sweet Peppermint Chipboard and More set. The “25” is a Tim Holtz die that I cut out of shiny silver flashing tape (from the hardware store).

The flowers are a mix of Maya Road, Prima, and Petaloo. I added extra glitter so they would sparkle like crazy! I added a touch of vintage tinsel and a glittery leaf (also Prima Sweet Peppermint).

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2017!

Wow, this is stunning, Erica! I love the pieced background and stitching, and your muted spray and paint splatters adds such a fabulous aged look to the design! Gorgeous flowers and vintage trims, and love that shiny 25! What a fun idea to use hardware store goods for that! Love it!
