Egg Hunt with Authentique

Today I’m sharing my latest design team project for The Crafty Scrapper – an Easter shadowbox I made using Authentique’s Eastertime collection.

So, apparently I have a thing for Easter shadowboxes, as this is the third I’ve created.

I used recycled chipboard to create the box and then covered it with the beautiful paper from this collection.

I fussy cut images from the paper and layered them to create the scene. Everyone looks ready for spring and for the annual Easter egg hunt.

On top, I layered paper flowers that I made using Tim Holtz’s Tiny Tattered Florals dies. The larger leaves are from a Prima die. I covered them all in Stickles and Wink of Stella for sparkle. Vintage trim and a hand-dyed seam binding bow add softness.

We still more than a week to go, plenty of time to craft ...

Today I’m sharing my latest project for The Crafty Scrapper – a mini book featuring the new Authentique Harvest collection as well as papers from the Photoplay Autumn Day collection.I started with some mini manila folders from 7 Gypsies, which I painted and inked until they were the perfect coppery-bronze color.

I layered patterned papers to create backgrounds that highlight the gorgeous vintage images from the Authentique collection.

I tucked in a tag between pages, adding some silk fall leaves.

Hand-dyed seam binding acts as a closure for the mini book.

Believe in Magic

I am kicking off the Christmas season with an ornament that I made for a recent event. I was an instructor at The Crafty Scrapper’s Christmas Carousel event this past Saturday. It was a long, fun day of crafting.

For my project, I started with a cardboard base that I die cut (using an old die that I have no idea who makes it). Then we painted it using two colors of Distress paint – Iced Spruce and Weathered Wood. Then we added Forest Moss Distress Stain, Pewter Perfect Pearls Mist, and silver Bo Bunny Glitter Paste.

The dies are all Tim Holtz. The adorable Santa image is from Authentique’s new Christmastime collection. We painted, glittered, and embossed a wooden snowflake from Do Crafts.

We also dyed seam binding with Fired Brick Distress Ink, and added a spritz of the Pewter Perfect Pe...

Autumn Leaves

With these long, hot summer days, I am looking forward to some cooler weather so I can get outside again. What better way to get into a cooler mood than to start crafting for autumn.

I made this little hanging using papers from the (last year’s) Authentique Grateful collection.

I recycled a piece of chipboard to use for the base, and then started layering on my papers. I gave brown cardstock a wash with copper Distress Paint.

The large leaf is a chipboard piece from a Maya Road album. The smaller leaf is covered in copper Stickles. The beautiful trims (all from The Crafty Scrapper) make this piece extra special.
