The Cards

Each year, I make a new batch of Christmas cards. They are usually a vintage style and almost always feature an image that evokes memories of Christmases past.

This year, I decided to use up some of the supplies that are hanging around the craft room. I combined the new Prima “Sweet Peppermint” papers with some older Bo Bunny, or whatever I had on hand.

I usually make one style of card and then create a pile that are all identical. This year, I used a similar style on all the cards, but each is different. Let’s take a look at a few of them.

Each card has a vintage book page, various patterned papers, and a beautiful vintage image as the centerpiece. Some of the images are from patterned papers and others are printed from vintage postcards.

ZunkyChic Christmas Card

I had very different plans for this year’s Christmas cards, but then I saw this very cool paper in the clearance section of my favorite scrapbook store, and I couldn’t resist. I knew I could make it look Christmas-y, and I loved the muted tones, which match so well with our holiday decor.

So, I got to work on a new design and here is what I came up with:

ZunkyChic Christmas Card

I used white cardstock for the base, layered the patterned paper with tulle, vintage sheet music, and wax paper that I tore into pieces.

I printed my vintage postcard image onto fabric and then stitched it on top. A stamped sentiment and some vintage mica flakes complete the frosty look.

Quick and Easy Cards

Of course, I’m never quite finished with my crafts or decorating or baking for Christmas. I needed several cards, and fast!

I used up some scraps to make a unique card for each recipient. Here are a few of them.

I embellished each card with glitter.

And I couldn’t stop myself from making another tag! I used up a few scraps that were laying on my table and added a tinsel hanger.

Day 22 of the Countdown to Christmas! Here is the box I made:

And the box I received from Liz Droege:

Of course, I made more Christmas cards! I had to have something special for the kids. Here is the card design for the big kids:
I used Basic Grey paper for the “sky” and used up other scraps in my Cricut for the die cuts. I used my new “Give a Hoot” cartridge for the trees and deer. (That makes twice this year that I’ve used my Cricut.) I sprayed white cardstock with Pearl Glimmer Mist and then added Stickles and Martha Stewart flocking to the snow.
Here are the cards for the little kids:

I used parts of an old Christmas paper pad I had in my stash. The images are cute, and perfect for toddlers.
