Egg Hunt with Authentique

Today I’m sharing my latest design team project for The Crafty Scrapper – an Easter shadowbox I made using Authentique’s Eastertime collection.

So, apparently I have a thing for Easter shadowboxes, as this is the third I’ve created.

I used recycled chipboard to create the box and then covered it with the beautiful paper from this collection.

I fussy cut images from the paper and layered them to create the scene. Everyone looks ready for spring and for the annual Easter egg hunt.

On top, I layered paper flowers that I made using Tim Holtz’s Tiny Tattered Florals dies. The larger leaves are from a Prima die. I covered them all in Stickles and Wink of Stella for sparkle. Vintage trim and a hand-dyed seam binding bow add softness.

We still more than a week to go, plenty of time to craft ...

Hoppy Easter

I love making Easter crafts. After Christmas, I’m ready to pack away all the red and green and bring out the spring colors. Easter crafts are the perfect way to brighten my mood when it’s still a little chilly and dreary outside.

I made a set of these sweet Easter bunny cards for all the little munchkins this year.

I used papers from the new Bo Bunny Soiree collection and some older My Mind’s Eye paper that I have in my stash.

Easter Parade

A couple of years ago, I saw an adorable post on the Creative Breathing blog of her Easter Parade, and I knew I had to have one for myself. I already had a couple of these vintage planters, so I began collecting more. I didn’t get around to making the parade last year, but this year I was determined that we would have an Easter Parade, right here on our very own dining table.

First, I set a pretty spring table. I used some of my vintage dishes, and added in a few new pieces.

This float was a judge’s favorite and won first prize (I have a little trophy attached on the other side).

I made little party hats and decked out each float with crepe paper ruffles, flowers, glitter…

Easter Bunny

Back when Lily Munchkin was here in December, we made Valentine hearts and Easter bunnies. I spent my time making sure she finished her bunny, which she painted blue and dressed in a pink tutu, so I didn’t get to finish my bunny until recently.

I started with a styrofoam egg for the body and ball for the head and covered both in paperclay. After the paperclay dried, I painted her a soft beige color and added pink in the ears and a little pink nose.

Then I coated her with pearl paint to give a nice opalescent sheen. I added the eyes and mouth with a dark gray permanent marker.

Now she needed some accessories. I added a ruffled crepe paper color, a tiny paper primrose, and a lace bow...
