Lucky Tag

Today I’m sharing another project featuring some great new products from Tim Holtz. I started with a plain manila tag, which I inked with watered-down Distress Ink. Once it was dry, I layered some papers from the Memoranda collection with a Thrift Shop Vellum Ephemera. Then I randomly added a gold Ranger Foil Sheet to give it a touch of glam.

I paired a Tim Holtz Paperdoll with a butterfly from the Layers Botanical set, which I glittered with Diamond Stickles. Our little fairy wears a dress that I tinted with Distress Markers and embellished with a small mirrored heart.

I blinged up with green flower with glitter and sequins, and tinted the other flowers using Distress Ink and water.

The sentiment is a Tim Holtz Quote Chip. Seam binding dyed with more Distress Ink finishes the tag.

Curiouser and Curiouser

The other day, I shared a couple of Christmas tags that I made using a card for the background. I used the same card for this tag, and it has a completely different look.

I again used the Tim Holtz background stencil and two colors of paint dabbers. I had this image of Alice in my stash and wanted to use it, so I gathered some embellishments that would fit a Wonderland theme: playing card, flowers, mushroom, key, and butterfly.

I colored Alice using distress markers and dabbing ink from an ink pad.

I think I’m finally ready to get back into my craft room and create! The problem is, we’re ready to start round two of the house renovations…

Christmas Recap – The Rest

I still have more Christmas projects to share, so here is everything else that I worked on for Christmas.

Up first is a little hanging I made with a vintage photo and a Tim Holtz cabinet card frame. I added some glitter around the image and a sparkling title along with some vintage trim at the bottom.

I love making tags all year, and at Christmas I actually have a use for them! For these two tags, I took a card that our bank sent to us (I had no worries about cutting it up since I knew I wouldn’t be saving it) and used the background scene in completely different ways.

In this first tag, I left the image as is and added a rub-on swirl and a Maya Road kraft house. The “silver bell” and tinsel trim complete it.

For this tag, I obscured the background using a Tim Holtz stencil and two colo...

Little Ballerina

I won the NSD tag challenge over at The Scrappy Tree blog! I made this tag of my darling niece practicing before her ballet class.

I used Prima packaging for the base and added vintage wallpaper and sheet music. I cut out her image and added a piece of fluffy Maya Road trim for a skirt.

I typed a sentiment on my vintage typewriter and added an old button. This tag will be perfect to tie on her birthday gift next month.

Isn’t she just the cutest little munchkin??!!

Spring Has Sprung

I’ve been very busy the last few weeks, but managed to put together this tag using supplies that were laying on my craft table.

I used vintage sheet music that I sprayed with Glimmer Mist, a vintage bird image, watercolor painting scrap, old buttons, and other old papers.

I tied a pale pink lace through the top and added a piece of old ribbon at the bottom.

We are getting much warmer weather here, and the trees are in full bloom. Pretty soon, I’ll need to get out and start planting the gardens. I hope spring has arrived in your neck of the woods!
