Lucky Tag

Today I’m sharing another project featuring some great new products from Tim Holtz. I started with a plain manila tag, which I inked with watered-down Distress Ink. Once it was dry, I layered some papers from the Memoranda collection with a Thrift Shop Vellum Ephemera. Then I randomly added a gold Ranger Foil Sheet to give it a touch of glam.

I paired a Tim Holtz Paperdoll with a butterfly from the Layers Botanical set, which I glittered with Diamond Stickles. Our little fairy wears a dress that I tinted with Distress Markers and embellished with a small mirrored heart.

I blinged up with green flower with glitter and sequins, and tinted the other flowers using Distress Ink and water.

The sentiment is a Tim Holtz Quote Chip. Seam binding dyed with more Distress Ink finishes the tag.

Dreamer of Dreams

Today I’m sharing my latest design team project for The Crafty Scrapper. I started with a wooden Tim Holtz Vignette Tray, that I turned into a home for this little june bug. The Tim Holtz Quote Chips and Paperdolls provided great inspiration for each of the projects I’ve shared. I could feel their personalities wanting to come out, and I hope I spoke well for them.

This little guy needed a perch to rest on, so I gave him one of my vintage wooden spools. The paper is from the Memoranda collection, which is perfect for a vintage and distress lover like me! The paper is wonderfully layered with bits of ephemera and then given an aged and distressed look.

Your Love

Today I’m sharing my project for The Crafty Scrapper’s Valentine’s Day challenge. I wanted to do something a little different, so I used the Maya Road Petite Pallet and turned it into a little house collage.

Turquoise, red, and pink are one of my favorite color combinations, so I wanted to use those colors for this project. I painted the pallet with a combination of Picket Fence Distress Paint, Weathered Wood Distress Paint, and Tumbled Glass Distress Stain. I made a roof out of cardboard and then covered it Maggie Holmes “Bloom” patterned paper that I cut into strips using an edge punch.

I cut a heart from cardboard and then covered it in Fired Brick Distress Paint and then heat embossed it with red glitter embossing powder.

I layered embellishments, including a Tim Holtz arrow and P...

The Project

Back in November, I taught at The Crafty Scrapper’s Christmas Carousel event. It was an all-day event, where I taught this 1-hour class five times. It was an exhausting day, but a lot of fun – especially for all the women who were crafting.

I used Prima’s “Sweet Peppermint” collection to make this Santa’s Visit gift card holder. We started with plain chipboard that we cut and scored into a little sleeve and drawer.

Some embellishments from Maya Road (bottle brush tree) and Tim Holtz (mini reindeer) are decorated and blinged to make Santa feel welcome.

I wonder how many of the crafters are going to give away their boxes? I don’t think I could part with it!

The Cards

Each year, I make a new batch of Christmas cards. They are usually a vintage style and almost always feature an image that evokes memories of Christmases past.

This year, I decided to use up some of the supplies that are hanging around the craft room. I combined the new Prima “Sweet Peppermint” papers with some older Bo Bunny, or whatever I had on hand.

I usually make one style of card and then create a pile that are all identical. This year, I used a similar style on all the cards, but each is different. Let’s take a look at a few of them.

Each card has a vintage book page, various patterned papers, and a beautiful vintage image as the centerpiece. Some of the images are from patterned papers and others are printed from vintage postcards.
