Today I’m sharing my latest project for The Crafty Scrapper.
I started with a burlap base, that I made sturdier by sewing a piece of chipboard between two pieces of burlap.
The background scene is from Bo Bunny’s new “Soiree” collection. These papers are so soft and pretty, I am in love! It’s like a mix of “Shabby Chic” meets “Fixer Upper”. Anyway, back to the project.
My plan was to add one of my vintage pattern girls to the scene, and lo and behold, I have one sitting down (of course I do). I gave her some depth by adhering with pop dots.
Then I layered on the trims and embellishments – all available at The Crafty Scrapper. These new fabric flowers from Maya Road are so soft and elegant.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Happy 2016! We started the year off with colds, and I’m still working on putting away all the Christmas decor. But, I have projects to work on and a new one to share.
I made this collage on a piece of distressed cardboard that I painted and inked. ThenĀ I started layering on the vintage wallpaper, tissue paper, and dress pattern ladies.
The bird image is from a paint sampler I picked up while shopping for paint colors for our upstairs loft. He was so sweet, and I just knew I could repurpose him into something fabulous.

She has finally arrived… our Jingle Bell Fairy made her appearance last night to ensure we have spread Christmas cheer throughout our home.
For the background, I painted and inked vintage sheet music before using a Tim Holtz stencil to apply Prima Crackle Texture Paste in platinum. While the paste what still wet, I sprinkled some vintage silver glitter on top.
The fairy is a vintage ballerina image that I dressed up with paper wings and a silver crown. (I used this same image on this year’s ornament.) She is dancing among her jingle bell garden, which is full of Christmas magic.

I am kicking off the Christmas season with an ornament that I made for a recent event. I was an instructor at The Crafty Scrapper’s Christmas Carousel event this past Saturday. It was a long, fun day of crafting.
For my project, I started with a cardboard base that I die cut (using an old die that I have no idea who makes it). Then we painted it using two colors of Distress paint – Iced Spruce and Weathered Wood. Then we added Forest Moss Distress Stain, Pewter Perfect Pearls Mist, and silver Bo Bunny Glitter Paste.
The dies are all Tim Holtz. The adorable Santa image is from Authentique’s new Christmastime collection. We painted, glittered, and embossed a wooden snowflake from Do Crafts.
We also dyed seam binding with Fired Brick Distress Ink, and added a spritz of the Pewter Perfect Pe...
